At Ambernet, we offer you the ‘added value’ factor of the competence and ability to supervise and oversee all of your editorial – spelling, punctuation, grammar and style. Most designers are just that – designers! They will competently design what you give them, whether it is right or wrong. But can you honestly say that all of your own staff and all of your hired designers know, for example, the difference between licence and license, practice and practise, dependent and dependant, principle and principal, effect and affect, and even it’s (with an apostrophe) and its (without an apostrophe)? These may seem simple and basic, but they are all very common errors.
It is no use depending on computer spell-checkers to correct examples like these. Indeed American spell-checkers will positively encourage you to choose the wrong spellings in some instances. For example, there is no such word as licence with a ‘c’ in American-English, so an American spell-checker will always try to change this to an ‘s’, even when an ‘s’ would be wrong in British-English. And if your own people and contractors don’t know the correct usages, who will correct any errors in your projects? At Ambernet, we include all proof-reading and editing in all projects to help you avoid costly and possibly embarrassing errors.
We will even work with you from the outset, helping you draft and edit your content in a readable style appropriate for your particular audience. (See the panel on the right.)
